10 years of Collaboration in the West End

2014

Peace Labyrinth Begins

3831 Hale Avenue, the site of our free to use inaugural peaceful space, illuminates the connection between redlining, urban renewal, gentrification, and the struggle for cultural preservation.

When the Peace Labyrinth emerged in Chickasaw, it was adorned with 450 bricks painted by community members as a testament of restoration, tranquility, and rejuvenation.

To this day, it’s a free to use meditative walking path in Louisville’s West End, created with over 450 pavers painted with inspirational messages from the community

2015

ELAhouse launches

3835 Hale Avenue stands as an enduring symbol of the West End’s rich Black heritage. Today, this space serves as a haven for neighbors offering a free and inclusive gathering place.

Within its walls, the spirit of connection and creativity thrives, enveloping all who enter with a sense of belonging.
