Walking the Walk
What We Do
We unite our community through healing art, empowering workshops, and meaningful connections. We also focus on honoring and celebrating African American culture, weaving it into everything we do—from our events to our community initiatives. Our work is rooted in the belief that when we come together, we create something truly powerful.
How We Do It
By hosting events in the community to uplift one another, exchange resources and knowledge, and spotlighting organizations uplifting the community. With our curated Black owned spaces like the ELAhouse and our Peace Labyrinth, we encourage our community to heal, learn, celebrate, explore, and play.

Peace Labyrinth
A free to use meditative walking path in Louisville’s West End, created with over 450 pavers painted with inspirational messages from the community.
Granny’s House
Granny’s House will be a place for wellness and healing, where generations can gather, learn, and grow. It symbolizes our enduring commitment to the West End—one space, one story, one neighbor at a time.
It took WEWC awhile but the roof was raised.
WEWC recently purchased another vacant home adjacent to our Peace Labyrinth. Thanks to your continued support, we purchased this property without incurring any debt. This year’s Give For Good Louisville donations will be used to complete first phase renovations including a new roof, plumbing and electrical systems.
